Word of the Day – Due Diligence

Sabi sa Wiki – Due Diligence – (also known as due care) is the effort made by an ordinarily prudent or reasonable party to avoid harm to another party or himself. Failure to make this effort is considered negligence.

Last couple of days nainvolve kasi ako sa feasability study kung mag-ooffer kami ng international factoring as a form ng pagbabayad ng kliyente from outer space..eh international pala. Samandaling salita – nangungumisyon or kunsumisyon!

Lake Lewisville Toll Bridge Construction Contract Awarded

lltbrideThe North Texas Tollway Authority Board of Directors awarded a $93 million contract last month for construction of the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge, which will connect the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco at Eldorado Parkway to IH-35E at Swisher Road in Lake Dallas providing commuters a new east-west corridor through Denton County.

The 1.7-mile bridge, scheduled to open to traffic in 2009, will provide a vital link for the 13.8-mile corridor, which is a joint project with Denton County, the NTTA, TxDOT and local municipalities. The four-lane bridge will be the only tolled portion in the corridor. It was designed by Turner Collie & Braden, Inc. and will span the northern arm of the lake.

The signature design of the bridge features a distinctive 360-foot tied-arch main span that rises over 55 feet above the water to provide clearance for sail boating.  The arches slant inward as they rise 60 feet above the bridge deck, enhancing the experience of height and distance. Motorists will pass between light towers that frame the weathering steel arch which is further outlined with tubular light-emitting-diode (LED) lamps that enhance the nautical theme. This subtle lighting will make the bridge’s shape and location visible from a considerable distance at night.

The bridge construction contract was awarded to Jensen Construction Co., a Midwestern heavy and highway construction firm that specializes in large bridge projects. The total estimated cost for the bridge project includes an additional $29 million for the toll plaza and toll collection systems; design, construction management and administrative costs; and contingencies for a total of $122.2 million for all elements of the bridge project.

The entire Lewisville Lake Corridor Project, including the approaching roadways built by Denton County and TxDOT in conjunction with the municipalities of Lake Dallas, Little Elm and Frisco, is estimated to cost $211 million.

The Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge is to be constructed and operated as a part of the Dallas North Tollway System.  Financing for the bridge project will come from the issuance of bonds and notes secured by the revenues of the Dallas North Tollway System and the use of surplus construction fund moneys from other projects of the System.

Car Oil & Filter changed at Walmart-Arapaho

Latest blunder on my part… I just copy/paste the emails with my correspondence..

I am sooooo pissed off with walmart! Just had my 2nd oil changed with them and they said that I’m missing an air filter?
It’s the same place I went to get the 1st oil changed and I’m so stupid I didn’t check it the 1st time I felt that something’s wrong with the engine performance.
What dicks..and yes..im a bigger D for not knowing anything about my car..heheeh!
did they removed it or you forgot to put one?
That’s the bad part about it. I think they removed it the 1st time I had oil changed 3,000+miles ago. The worst part now is that I don’t even know how it looks like! Hehehe! I’ll just stop by autozone tonight and buy a replacement. I’ll just drag the sales guy out to find out which kind I need.

At least I know where to put it. I checked under the hood when I got back in the parking lot here at work.

I believed that they removed it.  Walmart messed up 2 of my cars when I took it for an oil change, they were using a power drill to put the plug back on, so they got strip and started to leak.

The moral of the story is that the more you tried to save the more you get shoved up your freakin’ a$%*(%#ss!!

Ok. New development on this case. I came across some information that yahoo updates the mail every 10 minutes. Now isn’t that wierd. Coincidence or what? with the my media net every 10 minutes? wow…

So as of 4:44pm today 10/12/06 I deleted all my mobile profiles from all my yahoo account. Alerts, news, etc. the whole works. It this turns out as I’m hoping it will I’m going to publish this on my website and do a campaign on it! Cross-freakin fingers!!!!!

Cingular & my reunited W600i

I’m still pissed-off about all this things. I have returned the Motorola L7 and now i just check my media net activities and Cingular is slowly adding back the previous media net that wasn’t showing before I returned their stupid phone! See… before I called the Return Dept. I did a final master reset the erases everything on the phone and which takes a good 1 hour or so to finish the task. Then I started tracking it from Cingular website and was relieved that there were no media net activities anymore. Fine I said to myself. It’s fixed. So I had made arrangement with Cingular that 1st the replacement phone sucks & it’s doesn’t even par up with my w600i, 2nd-thought the phone is working fine now since their stupid website’s log does say it too.  Well..of course now they are tacking everything back in nice 10 minutes increments again.

Ok! Fine! Whatever! I’ll just go along with your stupid game and shell out an extra $5 a month just to keep my Sony ericsson w600i and get an freakin’ UNLIMITED Media Net! I bet you once I do that those 10 minutes increment will start to go away. A%*h073s!!  I’m going to do this cuz’ 1.) I constantly need my company email; 2.) like my phone so much.

My only consolation is that Cingular shelled out some time & effort in their stupid game which still ends up in the category of unresolved business. Oh well..let see how this new arrangement goes next week when I start to switch to their unlimited media net bundle.

Web Host Call Center

Crap! Just spent about 10 embarrassing minutes with a call center rep from the Phil.

Car Registration & renewal plus Assignment of Title

I think we just did a record-breaking feat today at the Denton County Tax Office. It’s registration-renewal time for our car and at the same time we need to do an assignment of title cuz’ it’s still under my bayaw’s name. Back when we were living in Mesquite we usually allot a 2-hour processing time to do this but we were surprised when we walk in and out in less than 5 minutes! Eh paano walang tao! Well not necessarily walang tao, may dalawang kumag na nauna pero may dalawang open window naman at nag-uunahan pang pag-silbihan kami. So did this & done that and I still get to work on time.

Cingular & my new Moto L7 Slvr

This phone sucks! Don’t even have the half the features of my W600i! I think my Sony Ericsson W600i spoiled me with their nifty features that now I’m missing it. This L7 is actually an itunes phone and yes it plays mp3 but with a certain limitation that i don’t agree upon. The no 1 restriction is that I have to use the proprietary programs to load songs on my L7? Crap! I usually don’t have to do that! I used to just plug my w600i in the usb & the computer treats it like an external drive and copy my stuff into it. Also you can’t use the mp3 files as a ringtone or message signal or whatever. It has been restricted probably due the fact that they loose money cuz’ you don’t have to buy a ringtone online.

Another quirk that I don’t like about this phone is that the camera resolution is a joke. Other camera phones are boasting this much megpix but this one I think goes the other way. Sony’s camera phone is the best.

Well..I guess I made up my mind. I just need to talk to the Cingular return department and tell them that I am not satisfied with this replacement and will keep my old phone. I also need to figure out the problem with that internet thingy and probably do a workaround. Jezzz….too much problems just to use a freaking cellphone.

Cingular & my MMS

Tangina talaga oo!

So ang ginawa ko naka-forward with message retain in server ang company email namin.

So..kalikot don, kalikot dito, changed and tweaked some Active Directory settings at diverted ko nga to a secondary forwarding email itong sa company and lo & behold! it works now! Internal daw…gagoh! Ako pa ba-badtripin nyo eh ulul din ako! letche! heheheheh!

Cingular & my late w600i

Cingular icare department finally came up with a quick-fix solution again. Replace the phone with a different brand. Really don’t want to but I’m up to this point that I don’t care anymore. Really like my Sony Ericsson W600i but I have no choice.  They are going to replace it with the Motorola L7 SLVR which will be on my hands by October 4.  The rep said it should be as good as the W600i but that stupid phone has grown on me.  They still havn’t found out why that particular phone is doing what it’s been doing. The last time I check it’s not included in the phones that Cingular is offering anymore. They have the w300i now i think.  Wonder why….
