A frog inside the house!

frog inside the houseSunday afternoon..we are all feeling lazy and just slumped infront of the tv. My son is getting ready for his executive job at his summer job. My daugther had put his working shoes out on the backyard to air dry it since it stinks and also got a little wet from last nights rain. So when my son picked it up outside and brought it inside the house and started doing other things he came back to his shoes and told us “hey! there’s a frog inside the house!”
We all got startled and the girls started to jump up on the couch. My son and I had to chase the frog from the den to the dining room and finally outside the backyard.
The frog wasn’t hurt or anything..i just swept it out since it’s so stubborn to get out.

Manny Pacquiao wins against Diaz!

Wow! what a fight! This one I enjoyed very much.
The last time I saw him fight I wasn’t impressed cuz’ he seems to be moving slow and out of focus. I thought this fight will be a loss to him but he turned out to be a great sportsman. The way he handled his opponent and the respect he showed. Great boxer this guy Pacquiao!
We usually watch his fight at my house but this time we got invited at a friend’s house and turned out to be a small crowd. Diaz has been a sport too and on his comments after the fight we started dropping those 4-letter words with combinations of some “-ing” too!

One Year Anniversary ni Daddy in advance

Divine Mercy Church at Mesquite but at the chapel..that’s where we had Daddy’s mass. The decision to do the One year death anniversary was due to the upcoming July 4th celebration. Actually my father-in-law passed away on July 4th of last year so a get together was organized in memory of him.
After the mass we all invited the attendees to have lunch with us at a nearby buffet place.

tivo dvr remote control image

I just got off the phone talking to my wife about programming our Tivo.  Our Directv DVR is not working so we had to use our backup in the bedroom. If you ever had the same problems that I had tying to explain to your better half over the phone how to program your tivo then here’s a map (image actually) of the Tivo Remote Control!  It’s so much easier walking her through it with this picture infront of you.

Philippine Ferry capsized-only bodies found

Only bodies under toppled ferry in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines - Divers wriggled into a capsized ferry Tuesday and found only bodies — including that of a crewman still clutching a radio — three days after some 850 people went down with the vessel during a powerful typhoon, officials said.

Hundreds of people were feared trapped when the ship suddenly tilted and went belly up Saturday at the height of the powerful storm that left dozens of people dead in flooded communities in the central Philippines.

Philippines Navy spokesman Lt. Col. Edgard Arevalo indicated it was unlikely there were survivors from the ferry. He said the ship’s interior was too dark to determine how many bodies were there and lighting was being brought in.

“Most of the bodies were floating inside. They were trapped when the seven-story ship suddenly tilted and capsized,” he told dzBB radio.

Arevalo said it was possible some passengers could have survived initially, but the roiling seas from Typhoon Fengshen had kept rescuers at bay too long and suffocation may have claimed some lives.

He said some of the bodies had life vests but many passengers apparently hesitated to jump into the “turbulent waters” before the ship capsized because “it happened too sudden.” Survivors said the ship listed and went down in a half-hour or less.

“If there are survivors, they could only be found in the forward portion, because if the vessel is no longer watertight, water would enter all its spaces that are submerged,” Arevalo said.

Dark clouds and bright skies

What kind of analogy is that? Hmmm..just came to me as an epiphany. With all those recent events that surrounds me if just started to give me the feeling of depression and at the same time some realization that we are all living in borrowed times.  The way we are living our lives are all based on the money and all the materials it can buy, may it be tagible or intangible. (jezz! my accountant side is creeping in..)  but really, i guess one of the reason why veered away sa mga materyal na bagay dahil siguro I’m searching for something beyond that.

Sadness came upon me when I heard about Nana Conching passing away.  This person has all the spirit of a happy human being which always tries to brighten other people’s lives.  -cont’d-

Double Whammy news on Texas

Texas was mentioned twice in the news feature of good morning america today june 5th.
One of the articles pertains to the polygamy cult that separated the children from their birth parents. The State of Texas intervene and took the children under state custody until the fate of those children have been decided.

The other one refers to the car jacking incident in dallas where the dallas police failed to remotely stop the bait car that plowed through an old lady ultimately killing her.
that program has been in suspension until they can determine what had happened.

The Texas crime rate specially in Dallas has been growing simula ng dumating yung mga taga-Katrina. Labas na yung cult incident pero if you look in the news and track all what’s happenning talagang lumaki ang growth rate percentage ng crime.
