SuperBowl XLII or 42

What else is new?! Hirap maging-ahead.
Yea..yea..time management lang yan.  Motivation and Organization…etc..etc… Wish ko lang…

Asia World at Legacy & 75

Went to check out this oriental place down at legacy and central.

The grocery is not that big compared to carrollton plaza supermarket. They have a nice setup. A couple of asian eatery on the surrounding. Had lunch at Pho Que Hong and of course ordered the favorite beef stew with noodles with matching pork bbq sandwich.
Went inside the grocery and got a couple of munchies and bought some red bean cakes where an old taiwanese man cooks them at a stall next to the deli where you can buy a buffet for $5
On the way out we stop by the bakery. It looks the same like the one in May Hua Plano but I think a little more in the expensive side.  And the bakery at Plano really looks and is fresh since the oven and the store are all in one area.

Anyways, I wasn’t really impress about the setup in Legacy, got me confused on the way they arranged the merchandise. Pero hey! another place to do your munchies needs!

Cracked Pot

A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the

ends of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots

had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always

delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk

from the stream to the House, the cracked pot arrived only half

full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer

delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments,

perfect for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was

Netflix delaying tactics on active users

If you use Netflix and watches a lot of movies, you can turn around those DVD pretty fast but since you are beginning to be liability to Netflix and costing them postage money they devised a way to delay the delivery of your movies.

If your local Netflix shipping center is really close and it only takes 1 days turnaround they will soon send your requested movies from the farthest Netflix shipping center that they have.

Of course they need to make money, well I’m just voicing my opinion too!

Here’s a sample of their email that my requested movie will be delayed….

Shipping update

Dear Sucker, NEW TITLE was not available at your local shipping center. Instead, we will be shipping this movie from WALA-WALA, Boonies on the next business day. As usual, you will receive a movie shipped email confirming the shipment. -The Netflix Team

FIA Card Services impersonal customer service

Everytime I look at my statement from my bank’s cc I remember the person I spoke to when I asked why my interest rate suddenly got jacked-up so high. They said it was based on my review so I asked for reconsideration. They said no and do what I have to do. Nice…..

Sunday after the 40th

What a hot 102 F Sunday!  Good thing I already sprayed some pest control chemicals around my house. Dang spiders & little critters are crawling inside the house through those weep holes.  Fire ants are finding their way in and around the kitchen cuz’ it’s just too much hotter outside.  Summer came in late here in Texas. Had a couple of thunderstorms and close calls from tornados which just missed us by a few counties.

Will be turning on the sprinklers tonight since our town lifted the water restrictions from once-a-week watering schedule to a voluntary twice-a-week watering.  Had to thank that extended rainy season for that.  I’ll search for some pix to post about the overflowing of the L.Lake here at L.E.  Felt sorry for that newly constructed sand beach that I think had been washed away.  More sorry for us cuz’ we paid for it through taxes!

Oh yea..the title after the 40th…Yesterday was the 40th day anniversary of my dad-in-law.  There was a church service at 10am and we came late kasi my grad. party last night.

Annoying Office Habits!

Business Basics
How Loud Is Too Loud?
Tara Weiss, 07.10.07, 3:00 PM ETWhile working at a weekly newspaper in Wisconsin, Angela Kargus became intimately acquainted with a co-worker’s personal life. Kargus learned about her fertility problems, that her dog urinates all over the carpet and that she does indeed have a regular menstrual cycle.

You’re right to think these are the kind of personal details shared over a cup of coffee or on a friend’s couch. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened. Kargus and her co-worker aren’t even friends. But her co-worker is a classic workplace loud talker. She yapped on her cellphone throughout the day with friends and, quite frequently, her mother.

This probably sounds familiar. Office loud talkers are everywhere, and the worst part is, they probably don’t even realize they’ve been labeled as such. To the unknowing, here’s a tip: Proper decorum calls for people to take personal conversations outside the office or into the hallway, especially since so many workplaces are in an open format where only top managers have offices (and doors they can close).

Mayor Lim banned computer games during class hours

World of Warcraft ba yun?  warcraft-clock-reign-of-chaos.gif

Batang Iwahig 1966 b&w movie

I had a chance to watch this movie after it has been sitting in my dvr for a few weeks. Syempre pag galing ka sa ob-lo may basag ka na like “batang-munti” or “batang-city jail” so in this case “Batang Iwahig”
