Manny Pacquiao wins against Diaz!

Wow! what a fight! This one I enjoyed very much.
The last time I saw him fight I wasn’t impressed cuz’ he seems to be moving slow and out of focus. I thought this fight will be a loss to him but he turned out to be a great sportsman. The way he handled his opponent and the respect he showed. Great boxer this guy Pacquiao!
We usually watch his fight at my house but this time we got invited at a friend’s house and turned out to be a small crowd. Diaz has been a sport too and on his comments after the fight we started dropping those 4-letter words with combinations of some “-ing” too!

American Airlines to charge for the 1st checked bag..

This is it! American Airlines just jumped in the bandwagon of airlines that charges for the checked bags.  They will also cut some of their flights.

Here’s the whole story..

American Airlines will start charging $15 for the first checked bag, cut domestic flights and lay off possibly thousands of workers as it grapples with record-high fuel prices.

American plans to cut domestic flight capacity by 11 percent to 12 percent in the fourth quarter, after the peak summer season is over. That’s more than double American’s previous plans to cut flying by 4.6 percent in late 2008.

In a further sign of the problems facing the industry, Southwest Airlines Co., the most consistently profitable U.S. carrier, won’t earn as much the rest of this year as it did in the same period of 2007, Chief Executive Gary Kelly said.

American, the nation’s largest carrier, said Wednesday the fee for the first checked bag starts June 15 and that it would raise other fees for services ranging from reservation help to oversized bags. The other fees will mostly range from $5 to $50 per service, the airline said.

Last month American announced it would join other carriers in charging $25 for second bags checked for some passengers, but it wasn’t immediately clear how Wednesday’s announcement would affect that.

At&T will raise it’s Broadband Prices!

They said it’s competitive pricing..I say it’s sucking us dry!

The At&t price change of $5 will affect the 13-state traditional region (Arkansas, Cincinatti, California, Conneticut, Nevada,  Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Texas). The change will not occur in the 9 Southeast states and it’s gear to be in effect by March 2008

The current pricing:
– Basic (768 Kbps): $14.99 (will change to $19.95)
– Express (1.5 Mbps) : $19.99 (will change to $25)
– Pro (3 Mbps) services.: $24.99 (will change to $30)

I guess I will have to downgrade to the express level to retain the same pricing scheme.

SuperBowl XLII or 42

Mayor Lim banned computer games during class hours

World of Warcraft ba yun?  warcraft-clock-reign-of-chaos.gif

High wind at 50mph in North Texas

Had to do some errands today from Plano to Garland and at around noon it feels that the winds has been picking up speed. Here’s the weather forecast for today.

A HIGH WIND WARNING is in effect with winds expected to be gusting over 50 mph across North Texas during the day today as a cold front and dry line sweep through the area. Blowing dust is likely. Temps top out in the low to mid 70s and then fall into the low to mid 60s by late this afternoon. Relatively quiet weather returns for the next several days.

It had made quite some damages on my backyard. 2 sections of my cedar picket fence had came down which borders my property line and my neighbor. The other side is currently being work on by this high winds and should come down too. That will be about 3 sections. Sooooo..I guess I’ll be buzy tomorrow to fix those damn fences!

Icy Rain-Winter Storm in effect @ Dallas

It actually started yesterday but the ice didn’t form fast enough on the road to spread some sand. Today most of the counties in Texas have icy roads.  My wife went to walmart yesterday to do some grocieries and she said a lot of people are panic buying due to the news announcement that there might be some power outages and slippery road. Compared to the northeast where they usually get snow, down here at texas we get ice and everytime there’s ice most of the people tend to stay indoor and only drive when necessary. friscofreeze2.jpg
The bad part of driving with this icy weather is that you don’t have traction on the tires. But the worst part if the stupid drivers that speeds up on bridges where ice are more likely to form and ends up hitting the slow moving cautious drivers. The thing is some people don’t know how to drive in this kind of weather condition. They are so impatient following the slow moving vehicles and they try to go around them and then hit thier stupid brakes which results to skidding. tsk..tsk..

The day NYC smells like Utot!

 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070108/ap_on_re_us/nyc_gas_odor

Temperature drop from 74F today to 33F tomorrow!
