Latchkey kid or Latchkey child refers to a child that returns from school to an empty home because their parents are away at work, or a child that is often left at home with little or no parental supervision.
This year pumasok na ang youngest namin. One time we had to take the SUV to the shop for check engine problem kaso problem-the other car namin is a stick-shift. Hindi sya marunong. So we decided to put her in the school bus. Syempre libre so why not! 1st day nya on the schoolbus she was sooo happy! Feeling nya big kid na sya. Kasi yung ibang mga kapatid nya nag-iis-schoolbus din tapos may sariling mga susi ng bahay kaya kahit wala kami doon or if my wife needs to do some errands they can get home.
Eto na, after dinner i always go straight dito sa computer to check my emails from work. I can hear my wife & my youngest one talking. Then my youngest one said something that I couldn’t help but laugh!
Mom? Can I have a house key?
I can hear my wife trying not to laugh and asking her why she needs it but of course my 4-year old couldn’t find the right words to explain herself. My wife walk here in my Soho and saw me almost falling down on my chair! ooohhh..priceless!
